Are you puzzled by your child’s behaviors and wondering how to manage them? Does your child exhibit big emotions that block their success and disrupt the family?
Even when we love our children and do our best to protect them, despite our best efforts, our kids may experience some hard things. These adverse childhood experiences impact our child’s developing brains, emotions, and behaviors
If you feel overwhelmed by your child’s emotional and behavioral needs, Nurturing Change is here to help.
We utilize a trauma-informed intervention that was developed for parents, called Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)®. Whether you are a biological, adoptive, foster parent, or relative caregiver, our TBRI® parenting classes and support groups will empower you to understand and meet the unique behavioral and emotional needs of your child.
Beginning with our TBRI® Intro and Overview Class we will compassionately explore how adversity affects child brain development-specifically emotions, behaviors, and learning. We will also learn practical ways to heal our kids through the use of TBRI's® Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles to meet attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors.
After attending our Intro and Overview Class, you'll be invited to dive deeper into TBRI® during our Connecting, Empowering, and Correcting Classes. You'll also be invited to join our virtual TBRI® Implementation support group for parents, where we apply TBRI® to specific parenting challenges within a supportive community.
The Intro and Overview class is a single session, offered on the first Saturday of very month. Advanced registration is required and registration closes 24 hours prior to the start of class.
Thanks to support from our generous donors, we are able to offer this 6 hour class at the discounted price of $50 per participant. Because we are committed to everyone having access to these services, we offer additional discounts, as needed.
Our TBRI® Intro & Overview class is offered in person in the months of September, November, January, March, May, and July. It meets from 9:00am-4:00pm with a one hour lunch break and takes place at Lirios Pediatrics at 4201 S Congress Ave #202, Austin, TX 78745. To reserve your spot for our IN-PERSON TBRI® Intro and Overview class, please register here.
While our immersive in-person class format is highly recommended, for those parents who are unable to attend in person, we offer a virtual class option in the months of August, October, December, February, April and June.
Due to the sensitive and confidential nature of things shared during our classes, parents who register for the virtual class must agree to NOT have children present during the class. Class meets from 9:00am-3:30pm with a thirty minute lunch break. To reserve your spot for our VIRTUAL TBRI® Intro & Overview Class, please register here.*
*Nurturing Change has been granted permission by the Karyn Purvis Instiute of Child Development (the creators of TBRI®) to train people who live within 2 hours of Austin, OR who do not have a TBRI® Practitioner in their local area who can provide them with this training.
